I was just poking and perusing around the web and i have always wondered how metabolism slows and what to do to help rev it up and give it a kick. so i came across a pretty helpful article that was 6 pages long, being the busy man that i am, i do not have time for 6 pages, but it had a bolded outline that provided the essentials and if one had any questions on the matter, they can simply read that part. The article is found at http://www.redbookmag.com/health-wellness/losing-weight/speed-metabolism-yl but they give the basic guidelines in 12 step manner but the ones that i am trying to pay attention to are:
- Eat Breakfast- i never eat breakfast, so i am going to try and wake up a bit earlier and eat.
- Nibble all day- i used to do this all the time when i was at home. I think i am going to try this more, get some more fruits (take from the caf) and buy some trailmix bags... things will be a lot easier once i get off campus next year.
- Drink Milk- in the past i hated milk and would never drink it, but one glass wont hurt
- Relax- really just takes some things easier and not worry so much about running
- Vitamin B-12- hopefully over the weekend i can get some.
- Not eating after 6 pm.- I usually do this and most of my dinners are past 6, but stop eating meals after dinner
I got to the track and stretched out my calf, my it band feels almost a hundred percent healed (knock on wood). Jon Grey came up to me asking how much i had to go for today, because the racers at liberty did not have to go as far. So him and i went out together and although my calf was tight and my shin hurt occasionally (it did not completely lock up which was great!). The run was actaully rather enjoyable, the pace was fine nothing surprising we started rolling on the way back a little and i actually felt responsive and not exhausted which was a great sign and a huge plus haha. Once I got back from my run (jon had to go 2 extra miles), we did core and got fit. After core i made sure to take my time and really get in a good stretch and ice.
Afterwards Harry and i headed to the caf and i got again sphagetti and meatballs, a panini sandwich, bowl of cereal, broccoli, and a hamburger.
Total: 14 miles
